Victor International Corporation founder, David V. Johnson, was recently honored with the 2012 Paul Harris Award for his business development in the British Virgin Islands. Johnson founded Victor International over 30 years ago and has since created over 40 luxury resort and residential communities including Virgin Gorda’s Oil Nut Bay, the Biras Creek Resort, and the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda Virgin Gorda and Marina. This award serves as a strong reminder of Johnson’s influence in the BVI and a fine complement to his past honors which include: Entrepreneur of the Year (USA Today), Environmentalist of the Year (Michigan Chamber of Commerce), and Developer of the Year (Building Industry Association).
The Paul Harris Award is given to those who have made monetary donations to the Rotary Foundation to further the foundation’s goals of world peace and international understanding. Rotary Foundation members help to accomplish these objectives by volunteering their time both at home and abroad to education and job training, making clean water readily available, battling hunger, eliminating polio, and to improving overall health and sanitation.
