Sightseeing in the British Virgin Islands: The Baths in Virgin Gorda

Located at the southern end of Virgin Gorda in the crystal clear Caribbean, lies The Baths, what some call the 8th Wonder of the World. This breathtaking location features a magnificent grouping of giant boulders of granite, seated together to form incredible grottos and pools when the water comes in at high tide.  Created from molten rock that seeped into existing volcanic rock layers and cooled, then was eroded by weather into smooth shapes, The Baths is a one of a kind location that will inspire awe in any individual who chooses to discover her hidden crevasses and nooks.  Explore  the hidden corners filled with the dewy morning light of the Caribbean, sun bathe on the giant rock formations, dig your feet into the diamond white sand, or uncover what sea life is teeming beneath the reefs.

You can make your way over to the Baths by two ways, one being by boat and the other by a short water taxi ride from Spanish Town. There is a small fee to enter this National Park, but thousands of travelers agree that it is well worth it to uncover the secrets of this natural wonder. Just make sure to bring your waterproof camera and water-shoes as the rocks can be slippery.
